Review: Avenger’s Heat (Moon Shifter #4) by Katie Reus

To truly have her, he must free her from her dark secret…

Enforcer Erin Flynn has dedicated her life to protecting her kind. But keeping her heart safe from Noah Campbell, the smoking-hot shifter who saved her life last year, is more difficult. The deadly beauty would love to sink into his arms and become his mate, but she knows she can’t—he must never know about her dark past.

When Erin is sent to investigate the disappearances of pregnant shifters in New Orleans, Erin and Noah find themselves involved in a mystery more sinister than anyone expected. And as Erin delves further into the crimes, chilling information about her own past is revealed. The people who wanted her dead in the first place are trying to finish the job, and Noah wants nothing more than to shield her from harm. But can Erin truly trust Noah and let him see the wounded beast she’s hidden for so long?

The fourth book in Katie Reus’s Moon Shifter series had a different feel to it than the previous books in the series. Readers have anticipated Erin and Noah’s book based upon on the sexual tension they have radiated in the previous books. Them becoming bondmates has been something fans of the series have simply known would happen. I think that knowing it would happen lead to their minimal page time. I like my romances to focus on a specific hero and heroine. That would be Erin and Noah in this case. So much page time was given to Brianna and Angelo and their inevitable mating. While I look forward to more books in the series and I have no doubts that Angelo and Brianna will be interesting to read, I would have no problem waiting to read them in their own separate book.

Avenger’s Heat did take readers on an action packed journey to New Orleans. While some new and intriguing characters were introduced the ones we’ve grown to love in the previous books had very little page time.

Erin has been sent to New Orleans on her first solo field assignment as an enforcer. Noah has accompanied her to provide any type of assistance she may need. He is also there because as a male lupine he just can’t let his female go too far away where he can’t protect her. As an enforcer Erin can easily take care of her own. This is a fact that she and Noah both know, but he is still an alpha male to the core. Noah is so very sexy and easily likeable. All of his amazing qualities are easily seen on the pages of this very sexy shifter romance!
