Review: By My Side by Jennifer Wright

Noah has suppressed his urges for other men for years, but when a sexy bartender comes crashing into his life, all bets are off.

Due to his career as a lawyer and his father’s strict ways, Noah has always ignored the side of him that craves the touch of another man, not wanting to upset the calm waters of his life. But when he’s out one night celebrating his friend’s first win in a courtroom, Noah is taken aback by the raw lust that consumes him when he meets Shea. He wants to ignore what he feels for the man, but when Shea introduces a tantalizing side of sex that Noah has been dreaming of, he finds it impossible to keep Shea out of his life.

Shea’s been heartbroken before by a man who wouldn’t come out of the closet for him, and he doesn’t think he can go through that again. Can Noah let go of his fears of coming out to the world? Will the pleasures Shea gives him in the bedroom have Noah seeing what really matters in the long run?

Noah is deeply in the closet and has no ideas of coming out anytime soon. His father found him with another man early in his law career and threatened him if anyone found out. Admitting he’s always been Bi-sexual, he’s never let his feelings towards men get out into the open since. That is until one night out with his buddy, he meets Shea behind the bar of the local club.

The lust and attraction becomes too much to handle and Noah doesn’t want to fight or hide his feelings anymore. Shea introduces Noah to a different side of sex he knew he’d been craving but never entertained the thought of getting. As the feelings boil over, questions on how to handle everything arise. Shea was hurt badly from a closeted lover, and is adamant about never being someone’s secret again. Can the two men work together and find some common ground??

Well I have to say I gobbled this up in one sitting! Yes it was too short! I definitely would love more about Noah and Shea! This is told from Noah’s POV but I would’ve loved a little bit of Shea’s too. You could feel his insecurities about Noah’s hiding and not wanting to get caught in that type of situation again. I felt bad for both of them. They were both really hot for each other and that leapt off the pages! I am glad both seemed willing to try for now, but I want to read another book to get the full picture!

All in all By My Side was a very enjoyable read! Perfect for those change of genre in the middle of longer novels or for a quick read by the pool! Sit back and dig in!
