Review: Civilian Master by Cassandra Carr

Clay's home for some R&R after a Special Ops mission goes terribly wrong. He's been interested in BDSM for a while, but has never gathered the courage to check out a club. When he finally does, Clay gets the surprise of his life. His best friend and first love, who he hasn't seen since he took off for the military, is there. Even more shocking: Flynn, like Clay, is gay. Flynn's not about to let Clay vanish into thin air like he did when they were in high school and is determined to show the man the freedom found in submission. Can Flynn help Clay find his true self?

After leaving home to join the Army Clay has returned due to a mandatory leave. Clay has to come to terms with a mission gone wrong. He also needs to face his past, Flynn. It’s been eight years since he left. It’s been eight years since he has seen Flynn, his best friend, and the man he has always had feelings for. With the clock already ticking the first place he goes is to a BDSM club looking for a little experimentation with a healthy side of atonement and release. The last thing he ever expected to see there was Flynn.

Cassandra Carr has given readers the whole deal in a short sexy and extremely hot package. The fact that Clay and Flynn know each other and have a past allows for the quick pace to feel real and not rushed. The secret thoughts and desires make it all the more enjoyable. The romance is hot and the sex is kinky. Clay and Flynn make for a great couple. Their story is perfect if you’re looking for short and sexy.

*Civilian Master was originally published in Unconditional Surrender An M/M Military Bundle. It has since been expanded with an epilogue and a little more Flynn and Clay to enjoy.
