Fascinating Rhythm is the second book I have read in this series and it was even better than the last. As my addiction to rocker romances grow I find this book has shot immediately to the top of the list. Let me share with you why.
Hunter in one word….YUMS! You can say what you want about the guys who play a guitar, the drummer is the quiet sexy one. His running from his past just leads him to his future…with none other than one of the people he was running from. As for Sabina, wow, just wow. I like my heroines to be strong, tough, resilient, but she just blows all other out of the water. By learning to cope with her handicap and making something of herself, that takes a lot of courage. I LOVE the idea that they author has for her surgery and I do so wish it was true. But I digress. Hunter and Sabina together are just incredible. I love how they are both fragile and strong. you can tell from the beginning these two were meant for each other. As for the sex between them, *Fans self*, yuppers…that was sizzling hot.
I really enjoyed the premise of this story. A rock star and a hard of hearing person. Two people you don’t think would go together but really Hunter and Sabina go together like peas and carrots. The flow of the story was smooth and the characters were all very real. The secondary characters were great and quirky (still want to name my next pet Zazz!) and add to the story seamlessly. Ms Connelly has created the perfect antagonist for this story, Hunter’s mom. There were times I just wanted to smack her for being so cold and indifferent but for the most part I felt sorry for her. As for they was his acts, I do know several people who have had surgery to restore their hearing. The author has done a spot job of how some people react which in itself is a sad thing.
So far of what I have read of the Nightstar series each book has worked well as a standalone. However, I am enjoying it so much I would highly recommend reading all of the books. I do have to backtrack to the first two titles, but if they are as good as the two that I have read, I will seek out other titles by Ms. Lynne Connolly. As for Fascinating Rhythm, this book need to go to the top of everyone’s TBR list.
