Review: Joshua (Faeted #1) by Caitlin Ricci

Joshua, a dragon shifter, hates having to go to the Faeted Matchmaking Agency, but he’s running out of time to find a mate, and he’s failed everywhere else. He only has a few more months before he enters the next stage of his life, and he’s getting desperate.

Dragon tradition states that he must have a partner to help him transition into independence from his clan. A long-time friend would be sufficient, but Joshua doesn’t have any of those either. Faeted is his last hope.

Rex expected Faeted to set him up with someone fun and sexy, but he was never expecting a dragon. As an eagle shifter, a dragon is a good match for him since they’re both born to fly. Joshua is far more cautious than Rex expects a dragon to be, but Rex knows he can get Joshua to loosen up with a bit of push.

Faeted Matchmaking Agency is the place for fae and other worldly beings to go to be matched with a mate.  Joshua, a dragon shifter, is approaching his twentieth birthday and hasn’t found a mate.  He needs one for the upcoming change to adulthood.  He is advised to attend a game the next day and he will find his match.  He knows nothing about the man other than his first name, Rex.  What kind of shifter would he be matched with??
Excited to go and find Rex, Joshua goes to the game.  He’s still skeptical the agency could find a match seeing he couldn’t himself.

I liked this short story by Caitlin Ricci!  I enjoyed all the tidbits about dragons we learn from Joshua.  Those things are everyday business for Joshua so they are so matter of fact when we learn them. I find dragons fascinating so I loved all the info! And how Joshua meets Rex! Totally fitting for the book!  It goes to show you that maybe you can find what you are looking for when you least expect it!

I enjoyed this story for what it was- a short, fun, entertaining quick read.  A little hotness tossed in and its a win win in my book!

If you are looking for a longer book with a lot of world building and character building, move along. This isn’t that type of book!  But if you need a little respite and are in between novels, pick this up! It’s a cute read!

Joshua is the first book in the Faeted series and I look forward to the next beings the agency will match!
