Title: Risk It
Jennifer Chance’s Rule Breakers series turns up the heat as a wealthy playboy and a beautiful con artist engage in a high-stakes game of seduction.
As dominating in business as he is in bed, Rand Sterling Winston, IV, always gets what he wants. And even before he realizes that she’s scammed him into paying triple the cost for her friend’s painting, he wants Dani Michaels. To catch her alone, Rand demands she personally deliver his purchase. The attraction between them is immediate and electric, and he knows she feels it, too. So when the part-time petty thief rebuffs his advances, he gives her a choice: a night in jail or an evening with him.
Despite her checkered past, Dani has never met someone like Rand: brooding, intense, and oh-so tempting. Only a man with a broken soul could make losing control feel this dangerous. Still, when Rand proposes a no-strings, no-holds-barred affair, Dani’s more than a little intrigued. It’ll be the trickiest con she's ever run and a chance to indulge her steamiest fantasies—nothing more. But as their encounters grow increasingly intimate, Dani uncovers a vulnerable side to Rand’s steely exterior . . . and opens her heart to the ultimate risk.

Risk It is book four in the Rule Breakers series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone.
I am not truly sure what to say about this book. I was ok but it just really didn’t hold my interest much. I was intrigued by the blurb and it started off fine. After a couple of chapters, I felt I wasn’t really vested in the characters. I never felt like I wanted to hear their story. It was a struggle to continue. There was a lot of inside your head stuff that really just muddled it up.
Rand is the typical billionaire. He’s used to getting what he wants when he wants it. Money is no object. He likes flaunting his successes to everybody. Dani has huge walls up. She’s only let a couple people close, but everybody else is held in check. She has a need for control so she lives her life ready to bolt at the first sign of trouble.
Dani sells Rand a painting way over the value. Once he finds out and realized she’s conned him, he gives her a choice-jail or a night with him. She of course doesn’t want to go to jail so she chooses Rand. After he offers her a no-strings attached contract for 30 days including some cash. He intends to break her, make her submit, and then cast her aside showing he won. She just wants the cash to pay off some debts owed. She’ll be damned to let him get too close to her. We have a back and forth battle. My biggest problem was Rand. I couldn’t get into him. For most of the book, he’s a downright ass. I had a hard time even buying the connection between the two. But the sexy scenes were were downright hot and steamy! Rand just came off way too wrong for me. He didn’t do anything to make me root for him. Yes I know he had an abusive past, but I just never connected.
Risk It was supposed to be the typical messed up billionaire who finds love. I usually love this type of storyline, but unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me.
