Title: Simply Irresistible
In Regency England bedchambers, almost anything goes in Kate Pierce's House of Pleasures…
No one can deny the passion Abigail Beecham feels for Peter Howard. Not Peter, not Abigail, and, unfortunately, not Abigail's husband James, a man with no interest in his wife or the society he long ago left behind. But despite longing for Peter, Abby cannot continue their illicit affair—not when her young son's future hangs in the balance.
Peter knows well that many things are sweeter when protracted, but what he wants from Abby goes beyond ordinary desire. He wants her to himself, to devote his entire being to making her wildest dreams come true. And so he turns to his oldest friend, Lord Valentin Sokorvsky, and Val's wife Sara, to abet his cause. Now these wanton friends are banded together for love, for pleasure, and for happily, wickedly, ever after...

I have been intermittently reading this series for several years. I would come across one and read it, usually out of order. In some cases it is kind of okay to read out of order, and in others, not so much.
Last November I reviewed Simply Pleasure. As I reviewed it, these characters sounded kind of familiar, but I couldn’t figure out why. Then Simply Irresistible came along. Would you believe I had this entire series in my “need to read again” queue? Sometimes the brain can be a little slow. Well, a quick reread on the first couple of books and I was ready to read this one.
I found it rather interesting that both Simply Sexual and Simply Sinful were written several years ago, but the author has chosen to revisit that world and these characters again. Simply Pleasure was a prequel for Val and Peter. Simply Irresistible turns out to be an epilogue. Simply Sinful left us with a reasonable happy for now ending and Simply Irresistible attempts to bring the story to a more satisfying happy ever after. You could read this as a stand-alone, but you will have a better understanding of the characters and their motivations if you have read the other books.
I found this a mostly predictable story line, really. I had pretty much decided this was one of two ways the story would have to go to attain an acceptable happy ever after. There was a bit of a surprise twist that did a nice job of tying everything up, which kind of saved the story for me.
Emotions were all over the place, and I had serious doubts sometimes that things would actually work out, so the story did hold my interest. I am not sure I especially liked the path chosen to arrive at the happy ever after, but it was a satisfactory one.
As with all of this series, there is lots of sex. Ménage sex. M/m sex. Kinky, BDSM type sex. This author does know how to write a rather HOT sex scene! *fanning self* You might want to have a cold drink handy.
So now that both Val and Peter have found their happy ever after’s, I am off the reread the rest of the series.
