Title: Mated to the Devil
Not all pleasures are a sin...
Mina wants to put her seduction by a golden-eyed devil behind her, but the birth of her son, Jacques, renders that impossible. She tries to forget the only man who ever roused her passion, but when she notices her son exhibiting strange behavior—and less-than-human characteristics—she must face her past and learn to trust, and love, again.
Howling drunk, the one thing Remy clearly remembers is seducing Mina. A pity he didn’t think to get her address, especially since he marks her as his mate. When she disappears, he’s got plenty of time to regret, but he doesn’t get a chance to atone until she comes back into his life with an unexpected surprise.
Thrust into the role of father, Remy works to bond with his son while gaining forgiveness. But will he get the chance to truly make Mina his mate before danger threatens their fragile happiness?

I loved this book! I love Eve’s books so this was not a big surprise. I do however enjoy Eve’s darker books over her humorous books that she is most known for. I like my books dark and twisty.
Mina has been raised by some extremely religious parents that have kept her overly sheltered. They stringent upbringing has left her with some interesting notions of right and wrong. Premarital sex with the sexy drunken frat boy… all kinds of wrong and everyone in her life that should have loved her regardless turned their backs on her when she needed them the most. I just loved Mina. She is queen of make the most out of what you have. All the hardships have made her stronger.
When evil doers strike Mina Remy is given a chance he never imagined he would have. How can you not love a man who never gave up on finding the mate that he didn’t exactly wrong, but he definitely didn’t do right by her? Remy dives into the role of father and mate at the first opportunity. He is the perfect mate. He knows he has much to atone for and he is eager to make up for the lost time. There is just one problem, the evil that put Mina back in his life is not backing off and they are putting a roadblock on his path to a happily ever after.
I LOVED Pierre and Jacques. These two guys add something very special to Mated to the Devil. They gave new meaning to the tight family bond that shifters find in pack life. The advice father gives son, and son bumbles, and grandson getting to know caring people that he never had in his life was so real. Jacques and his reactions to his newly known father are so sweet. Remy meeting his son for the first time… there are truly some heart wrenching moments between these pages. Pierre being the older and wiser trying to do what is best where his pack is concerned while trying to not scare Mina made him the perfect alpha.
I also found it interesting that a race issue was addressed. I’ve read books where there is a mixed race couple, but never where there were issues due to it, or a child experiencing racism. Jacques and his mother have both experienced hatred due to the obvious race difference. Sadly this is something that happens in the real world and I was surprised to see it brought up in one of my escapes into a book.
