ARC Review: Silent Warrior by Lindsey Piper

An exciting, emotionally charged prequel to "The Dragon Kings" trilogy, featuring warriors fighting for their lives in violent Cage matches to guarantee their clans' survival.

A silent woman ashamed of her criminal background becomes a Cage warrior to seek redemption. An unrepentant fortune hunter chooses combat over death to appease a mafia family. Although rivals in battle, they find common ground when seeking their clan's stolen idol, but for vastly different reasons. Neither one suspects that love will begin when he becomes the first man in five years to hear her speak.

Silent and Hawk – two Cage warriors. One fight for redemption, the other to escape his debts. Both fighting for money to achieve their goals. Enemies in the cage and on the streets, they find themselves drawn to each other. As they traverse the streets of Hong Kong seeking their clan’s stolen idol, little do they know love will strike when she speaks for the first time years.

Let me start with I LOVE Hawk. One of the best characters I’ve come across in a long time. I know he’s a tough, bold, sexy warrior but seriously, who can’t just help but love at a guy that just can’t shut up. His monologs to drawn out Silent to speak had me in stitches. As for Silent, I am in awe of her. Tough, strong, smart and fairly sexy herself. I appreciate how the author didn’t portray her as a weakling but just as tough and strong (and flawed) as Hawk. Author Lindsey Piper has written two great characters and their story, the Silent Warrior, is intense, fast-paced and full of action – both in the cage and in the sack. I could not put this book down. Consider me hooked on reading The Dragon King trilogy. I can’t wait for the next book!

I was provided a copy of the book for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review in any way and the opinions of this review are all mine.
