Title: Behind the Scenes
New beginnings are exciting, but we can rarely outrun our pasts. Steve Michaels and Zack Greene pack up their newly extended family and move to New York City with their nanny, Drew, and his two kids. Having recently been hired to write for a BDSM show, Steve and Zack use their loving Dom/sub relationship for some experience with the lifestyle, but they need a consultant to fill in the blanks. Alex a local Dom/club owner, can do just that. Everything is going smoothly until Rich, a ex-producer from Ben’s Life and the man who tried to ruin Zack, tries to get a job on the same show. And that’s only the beginning of it.
Zack and Steve offered Drew an opportunity of a lifetime working for them. When Alex shows up for the first meeting with Zack and Steve, Drew realizes he didn’t leave his past behind after all. This becomes more true when his ex comes back wanting to see the kids.
Can Drew trust Alex to help him get over his past? Can Steve manage to keep Zack safe from the man who has haunted him for so long? Find out what happens Behind the Scenes!

Behind the Scenes by Liz Borino and Michelle Stevens is the start of a new series, Director’s Cut and a wonderful addition to the Mine series. Steve and Zack have gone forward with their lives and uprooted and moved to New York. In tow are Steve’s younger sister and ward, Sunni, and nanny Drew and his children. New extended family, new jobs and new friends all await them.
Steve and Zack are the writers of a new HBO special that deals with BDSM, a lifestyle not unfamiliar to them. Additionally, they have hired consultant, Alex; a Dom and BDSM club owner. What transpires is a tangled web of love and lives.
Behind the Scenes is a multi-dimensional story. It is not only the continuation of Steve and Zack and their loving relationship, but also of Drew and Alex. Ms. Borino did not allow the characters of Steve and Zack to diminish in light of the new series; in fact I believe she further cemented their marriage and dove deeper into their mutual understanding of their joint lives. The men have a very unique Dom/s relationship which permits Dom Steve to seek release and comfort as a switch when needed. The authors described the men with compassion and strength of character as they traveled through unknown waters; life with an extended family under the same roof, while keeping true to their relationship.
The bond is further cemented when someone from their past reenters their lives with nefarious intentions; drawing the men closer and more stable.
Intertwined in the story of Steve and Zack is the story of Alex and Drew. I thought that Ms. Borino and Ms. Stevens beautifully delivered a separate storyline allowing for the new characters to flourish and grow, but continued to intimate them in the lives of Steve and Zack.
Drew was characterized as unsure of himself, but, had an underlying quiet strength that endeared him; giving into his desires to be taken care of and loved while continuing his independence. The authors did a wonderful job of walking the fine line between needy and need. Alex’s dominant personality was apparent from the start, but complimented Drew as they began this new journey together. Drew also has a past that he must deal with if he plans a present and future in Alex’s arms.
I would suggest that although this is a new series, readers should first read the Mine series in order to get a better appreciation of Steve and Zack’s relationship and how far they have come. Wonderful and stimulating sex scenes and well-developed characters throughout both series-You will not be disappointed.
I look forward to reading more of this new series and delving further into the lives of the four very different men portrayed, their trials and tribulations and watching them grow under the careful guidance of Ms. Borino and Ms. Stevens.
