Review: Crossing Lines by Alannah Lynne

The world’s best-stocked toy drawer can only take a gal so far. Bored with her current assortment of vibrating, plastic pieces, Sam Wallace decides to add a new sex toy to her collection: Kevin Mazze. The sexy Italian is more than happy to help her live out her long-held sexual fantasies, and trusting him with her body is easy. Trusting him with her heart, however, is not… especially when he commits an unforgiveable sin.

Kevin Mazze is one of the good guys. He’s spent his life always doing the right things and making those around him happy. When he meets the woman of his dreams, at the worst possible time, he finds himself making bad choices in the name of good and crossing lines he never thought he would… while praying she never finds out.

Crossing Lines by Alannah Lynne is the third book in her series Heat Wave. Ms. Lynne weaves contemporary romance, hot sex, adorable characters and a tad of BDSM. By far, Crossing Lines was my favorite in the series.

Samantha Wallace is a single mother, a building inspector, a lover of construction and a penchant for kink. Kevin Mazze, Italian stud and owner of Mazze Builders is one of the few good men left on the market. Sam has been burned in the past, but falls head over heels for him. Kevin believes in always doing the right thing, but even that can get a guy into trouble.

Ms. Lynne tells a story of trust and growth. Sam, once burned and now shy can’t help but falling for the sexy man who says all the right things. He is definitely one of the good guys as he inadvertently fell into Sam and her daughter, Michy’s lives.  Sam must learn to trust in her feelings and learn that happily ever after can truly be achieved.

Ms. Lynne had me enraptured with the characters. They were fun-living, quirky and totally sexy. As a reader I became entrenched in their story and felt a part of every scene. The sex was smokin’ and fantasies abound. Damn if I didn’t want to try Sam’s fantasy myself.

Although Crossing Lines is part of a series, there is enough singularity and description to allow it to stand alone. But, as a fan of the series, I highly recommend reading the other great books.

Just when you think that good guys finish last, Ms. Lynne delivers a true winner in the seductive tale of Sam and Kevin.
