Review: Forbidden Lust (Lust For Life #3) by Jayne Kingston

Seven years ago she propositioned him and he turned her down.

Oscar cannot deny he’s wanted Eva for as long as he can remember, but their thirteen-year age difference and family loyalty have forced him to keep her at arm’s length. By any means necessary.

His best friend’s baby sister wasn’t quite eighteen when she tempted him with the offer of a lifetime. Turning her down then was a no-brainer. Seven years later he finds himself confessing she’s become every inch the woman of his most lusty fantasies. So she issues a challenge—prove it.

Prove it he does. Over and over again in a night so mind-blowingly hot it leads to days and weeks of all-consuming passion. Passion completely worth the wrath he is going to have to face when her family finds out he’s broken all the rules to have her.

Eva has had a crush on her older brothers best friend, Oscar, since she first noticed boys were different. He’s quite a bit older so when she propositioned him, he turned her down hard. Oscar is that guy that grounds those around him. He doesn’t laugh or smile often but when he does he really means it. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and has been crazy for Eva for longer than he cares to admit. Eva is open and loud, curses like a sailor and enjoys the freedom of being single. But she also watches Oscar when he’s not looking and constantly wonders what it would be like to be with him. They have circled each other for years and now when Eva lays down the challenge, Oscar is more than happy to step up.

This was such a fun couple to read about. They are opposite in many ways but they compliment each other as well. Where Eva is loud, Oscar is quite. When Oscar is serious, Eva lightens him and makes him smile. They have such a sweet relationship that builds as the story progresses. There wasn’t a big struggle over being together. Eva wanted to keep their relationship a secret so there are issues with that from her family but it’s not too drama filled.

Oscar and Eva are scorching hot together. They can’t keep their hands off each other and are constantly getting creative. The sex scenes were frequent but they weren’t too much for the story. The story progresses fairly quickly and ended before I was ready. I do wish the end had less of the author telling us what happened and showed us instead. She basically covers several months in a few pages. It’s the second time she did it and it’s a pet peeve of mine.

I am excited to see more from this series. This is the third book in the Lust for Life series. This series focuses on a tattoo parlor and the artists and piercers that work there. While they can all be read as stand alone works and are all about different couples, the same characters appear throughout the series so they are best read in order.
