Review: Alrik (C-7 Shifters #1) by Carol Lynne

Alrik is determined to keep sex with Ben simple, but when wolves, shifters and bullets enter their world, all bets are off.

Dr Ben Cook has devoted his life to saving the Mexican Grey wolf population from extinction. A year after being shot while looking for a large pack of Mexican greys, he’s determined to try again. When Ben’s sister hires one of the C-7 shifters to protect him on his mission, he feels an immediate and undeniable attraction to the huge blond protector.

Alrik’s body yearns for his client on sight, but for a shifter who prefers sex without sentiment, Ben presents a problem. Centuries earlier, Alrik learned that love was a worthless emotion that only served to trap those stupid enough to fall.

Alrik is determined to keep sex with Ben simple, but when wolves, shifters and bullets enter their world, all bets are off.

300 Review

Alrik, C-7 Shifters by Carol Lynne was an intriguing story that added a new twist to a book about shifter. C-7, a security organization of chameleon shifters were the last of their kind. Born as an anomaly, the seven shifters were able to transform into any being, man or beast.

Alrik, a chameleon shifter was hired to safeguard Dr. Ben Cook, a protector and observer of the Mexican Grey Wolf. What the men found on their adventure was more than either of them bargained for.

Carol Lynne transformed the world of shifters and melded it with the world of humans and wolves. Alrik’s past was intriguing and dark and the more Ben learned the more he yearned to hold onto the man. Ben was compassionate towards his fellow man and wolves, desiring only the best for both.

The secondary characters, the rest of the team were larger than life and yes, there will be sequels. Alrik was a great start to the series and I look forward to reading more of C-7.
