Review: Apple Mead (Delectable Vines #1) by West Thornhill

This is book one in the Delectable Vines series

After a nasty break-up, Xeno decides to try something new. He’s not completely ready for what happens next.

For one night Xeno wants to be the center of someone’s attention. He doesn’t bargain on becoming the most important member of the Fae guardians.

Xeno’s life suddenly changes when he takes another chance with the five men he met on Beltaine. Seeing them again awakens not only Xeno’s deep-seated desires but also a connection the Fae need.

What happens when Xeno agrees to move in? How will that impact the rest of his life? Xeno is about to find out the answers to those questions and a whole lot more. Is he ready to find out the truth and embrace his life as a member of the Fae? Only Xeno can answer those questions. Should be an interesting journey.

A quick reading story that was heavy on the sexual connection between the five (yes 5) Fae men who live together in a house, and the one man that they all want to join them.

The story was clever in plotting, but the whole Fae connection was trotted out only occasionally, without real explanation or purpose that I could find.  I could, however, appreciate the connection, more shown than felt, between the men, and a touch of their personal history was presented.  This was, however, a short novella, just around 60 pages, and the depth of characterization and emotional impact were lacking, and as I mentioned before, I didn’t see a reason behind the Fae connection.

This is the first in a 2 part series, so I am hoping that the Fae connection is explained in the second book.  But, for a quick read with plenty of M/M and M/M/M and even M to the 5th or 6th power ménage, this book has that in spades: steamy, descriptive and sensual.
