Review: Barefoot Paradise by JL Taft

Gwen is looking for a fling in the Bahamas. She’s tired of the bars at home and just wants to relax and get laid. A tropical vacation seems like the perfect place to live in the moment. But when she meets a hunky history professor at the pool she has no idea what she’s in for.

Steve is stuck chaperoning a group of college girls on a trip to the Bahamas. When he meets Gwen, with her charm and sexy feet, he forgets his vow to steer clear of women. She makes him hot in all the right places and comes alive at his touch. But he fears his secret foot fetish will push her away like all the others. Little does he know she’s had more than enough of “normal” and is ready to explore.

Gwen is just out looking for some fun. She has had her heart broken to many times, and work is too important to spend any amount of time on her dating life. Which is why she has been saving up to go to the Bahama’s. Her holiday doesn’t start of too fantastically thanks to a horrible flight but soon things seem to be improving when she catches the eye of ever so hunky Steve. Passions rise and needs get fed. But can they both get past their issues and through to the hotter side of life?

So I will admit – this was my first foot fetish or really any kind of kinky fetish experience. And I loved it. It was so cute and not at all overdone. It could have easily turned into a very awkward encounter and read but JL Taft spun the tale so well that it was really easy to read and easy to get into the characters and their mind sets.

I loved both the mc’s. They were nowhere near perfect. Gwen has some image issues and well Steve… Steve has some pretty big secrets. Which made this all the more fun to read. Will the two of them overcome past hurt’s or will this turn onto a one night stand kind of situation? I loved that I was kept guessing.

The story opened it up just enough for me to be kept wondering after I put it down and I now find myself thinking about the characters and where they will end up. In my books that’s a true mark of genius 😉 Elloras Cave
