Moving to San Francisco was a decision twenty-three year old Elisheva Tilton thought would change her hard life in Little Rock, Arkansas, for the better. Yet, Eli still finds herself living in shambles and being constantly stressed out just to make ends meet in the Big Bad Bay.

And the stress only piles on when the most unusual of things begin to happen around her—including the mysterious disappearance of the Atlantic Ocean—and even more so when she strangely meets the unlikely individual who would irrevocably change her life forever; a gorgeous, unbelievably sexy, and sophisticated high-ranking soul reaper.

Rated 17+
This series contains graphic sexual content, violence, and strong language. Because of its explicit nature, it is intended for mature audiences only. Reader discretion is advised.

When I originally said I would review The Basilisk’s Creed by Eme Strife. I was told it was an omnibus and to review it as such. Not 100% what an omnibus is but now that I have finished this book, I can only assume it is a collection of a novella series bond together as one seamless book. I also assume it was complete…unfortunately I was mistaken.

I have this thing about covers. I like them to make sense with the story. And as cool as I think the cover for The Basilisk’s Creed is, I don’t get it. I don’t understand how it ties in with the story. Which is a shame because I did enjoy the book. To say that The Basilisk’s Creed is strange is quite the understatement. Matt is a soul reaper although I’m still undecided what that means. Near as I figured Eli is human. Strange unbelievable things are happening around her…the biggest being the entire Atlantic Ocean has disappeared. Matt and his warriors are trying to figure out what is going on while in the mean time Matt is trying to find mysterious dreamgirl Eli. There is some kind of connection between them that I don’t understand but most certainly keeps the story interesting.

I was really hooked and things were really drawing me in. Lots of build up to the story, I can practically see the gears in both their heads spinning. Things started clicking into place and then WHAM! Cliffhanger…NOOOOO! No, no, no! Why did there have to be a cliffhanger and right when things were getting REAL GOOD! I haven’t read Eme Strife but the way this book ended I know I will be back for more.
