Title: Behind Iron Lace
Hot and steamy in The Big Easy isn't the life Darcy Butler wants. Until he meets a smooth talking bad boy who makes him question his entire belief system.
Darcy Butler is a fish out of water (or in his case a Duck out of Oregon), and he is suffocating in the humid New Orleans' heat. Dissatisfied with his career, his life, he is homesick and heartbroken. But above all Darcy is straight. Or so he believes until he meets the drop-dead gorgeous photographer he wants to hire to revamp the art department of the e-magazine he co-owns with his former lover.
Caleb Mitchell, bad boy extraordinaire lives life on the edge. He's been around the world covering murder and mayhem. Back in New Orleans to tend his dying mother, Caleb is worn down by grief and his own mortality. He seeks the diversion of playing art director of a small local e-magazine to help keep him sane. He doesn't expect the instant attraction to the bright-eyed editor/owner. That Darcy is deeply closeted and possibly straight doesn't matter to Caleb. Because when Caleb wants something, there is nothing going to stand in his way.
Not even Darcy.
A jealous ex, the hot summer nights, and the secrets Caleb carefully hides behind iron lace tattoos could just be Darcy's undoing.

It’s supposed to be a simple job interview. Darcy’s e-magazine needs some serious art help and he knows that Caleb is exactly what it needs. Darcy is shocked by Caleb from the moment they meet. Nothing is as he thought it should be. The attraction Darcy feels to Caleb is the most unexplainable. Darcy has always believed himself to be straight. Darcy sees the magazine and the team that he has worked with as being his future. Caleb and the force that he is changes everything.
Caleb is one sexy hot mess. Darcy is a mess too, but for all too many different reasons. Caleb and his live life to the fullest attitude brings an enthusiasm for life to the pages. Considering why he is in the city and job hunting makes Caleb’s attitude toward life an interesting aspect to Behind Iron Lace. Caleb has a past that haunts him. Caleb has even reinvented himself to keep the secrets of his past buries. All it takes is Darcy striking his fancy to bring all of his walls tumbling down.
There were a couple of things that drove me completely batty. New Orleans is a place I know very well. I was born and raised near there, very near. I know Cajuns and French Cajuns. I also know that no one tosses cher around down there the way it is tossed around in this book. This will most likely not bother people as much as it does me. It’s just one of those things. The other would be lube. If it’s not mentioned in male male romance I assume it is used. If it is mentioned and still not used I wonder about the hows. The how is explained, it just didn’t feel right. I’m sure Darcy would agree with me on the not feeling right.
