Review: Beta (Alpha #2) by Jasinda Wilder

Roth and I are on an open-ended tour of the world. Roth being Roth, this means missionary in Morocco, reverse cowgirl in Calcutta, bent over the bow of a houseboat in Hanoi, slow and sleepy on St. John. Anywhere and everywhere, in every conceivable position, and some I didn't know were possible.

Life was pretty incredible.

Until I woke up in his chateau in France, alone. On the bed next to me was a note. There were only four words:

He belongs to me.

***This book contains sexual scenes and situations that may make some readers uncomfortable.

This jumps right in where Alpha left off so you should read that first otherwise you will not know what is going on or anything about the characters.
Kyrie wakes up to find Roth gone with a note written in blood stabbed into his pillow. She freaks of course and we are off! This book is non-stop action and sex! I was hooked and I couldn’t stop reading. Do I really have to eat??? Sleep??? I actually got the audiobook upgrade for this and was now listening on my commute to work. Pretty soon I am listening at work and after work, and every chance I had! Remember I was hooked!  I really loved Kyrie and Roth and their love for each other from Alpha. OMG!! Jasinda really upped the ante with Beta!! It tests our couple at every turn and I was just enthralled. I can’t tell you about the plot because it needs to be experienced first hand. It is just that good!! Kyrie is one tough girl! Love is the underlying theme throughout and the lengths one will go to to preserve it. Please, please, please, give this a read and if you can, do the audiobook upgrade. I really enjoyed that aspect of having it read to me so I didn’t have to concentrate on reading the words but just enjoy the story as it unfolded. I loved the narration done by Summer Roberts. Her inflection of Kyrie was spot on for me and her version of Roth? Better than the male’s narration of him in my opinion.
Yes, this was a very graphic book so be aware. There are many scenes of graphic, gory violence. There are scenes of torture and rape. There are scenes of explicit sex. But Jasinda does an awesome job of wrapping all those up in a present of suspense that we need to know what happens next- we just can not stop reading. This book ended how it needed to. I loved it but this chapter is over. I know there will be a final book, Omega, that will deal with Beta’s aftermath and accountability. I am certain I will read it but probably through my fingers because I expect it to be a doozy! Well done!
