Review: Betrayed (Bound Gods #3) by Adrienne Wilder

Bound Gods: Book 3 Betrayed

The stakes are rising.

As the god-son closes in leaving more bodies in its wake, treason and betrayal against the Association is unveiled. An inquiry for the Goddesses has been called, threatening everything Leo holds dear.

And the Chimera is not about to let go without a fight.

Despite the dangers lurking in the shadows, Leo wants his doxie Kaleb to think of only one thing. Him. His training. His purpose. And embrace the reality of what he is and not be ashamed of his attraction to Aaron, the doxie tossed aside by Sol.

Attraction is one thing. Bringing the boy to their bed is something else entirely. Kaleb can’t possibly want anyone but Leo. A lie Kaleb will pay dearly for. Penance Leo will be more than happy to deliver.

But penance for a lie will pale in comparison to what Kaleb must do to keep Sol from taking Aaron away, and invoking the Chimera into a lifetime in chains.

300 Review

Well I finished reading Betrayed a couple of days ago and I’m finally now writing the review. Yes, it took me three days to scrap my jaw off the ground and pull my brain in together enough to figure out what to say. So here’s a quick breakdown.

It’s after the Gathering and Leo is still training Kaleb. But Kaleb’s mind is on Aaron, Sol’s former Doxie that was attacked and left scarred by the son-god. Leo brings him into his and Kaleb’s bed. Aaron understands what it is to be a Doxie and begins to help train Kaleb. The mystery surrounding the son-god gets murkier as more Doxies are killed. The Goddesses have been called in. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it seems Sol may be not quite ready to part ways with Aaron, not without a price. Leo has other ideas because now he intends to keep Aaron and Kaleb for himself…no matter what the cost.

After I read the first two books in the series, I honestly didn’t think things could get any more insane. I. Was. Wrong. The dynamics have changed with Aaron in the picture. He knows what it IS to be a Doxie, he was raised knowing he was destined to be one. Kaleb was not. He’s having a hard time dealing with the pain and submission side of it all. Knowing that Aaron knows what is expected of him; Leo has him help out with Kaleb. YIKES! I thought previous sex scenes were wild. Holy cannoli…clean up on Aisle 12! This time around, it is off the charts. Honestly, if I could rate this book with more than 5-Flames I would because the things author Adrienne Wilder has Leo do to and with Kaleb are insane. Like scary insane. Like I have no idea how some of the things that Leo, Kaleb and Aaron do are even remotely possible. And if they are, I am so glad I have girly parts!

So the sex (Which there is a lot of!) and the training aside, there is the whole son-god aspect to the story. The Goddesses have been called in which is NOT a good thing. Last time that happen many folks died. Alton has is fairly certain that someone in the inner circle has (As the title suggests!) betrayed them. The son-god has killed more wannabe Doxies as they are being brought in. The son-god is shedding skin and give Leo ideas of what it might be. Yeah did not see that coming at all. As for Sol’s reappearance, he’s an A$$! That’s all I’m going to say. Oh wait, and he has to die! Okay I’m done now.

This series is a must on many levels. It must be read in order. No cutting corners here. Each story brings in layers that must be read as they are written. It must be read with an open mind especially when it comes to the sex. It’s hardcore, inventive and loaded with hardware and toys. It’s a must read for anyone who devours erotic M/M stories…that run on the depraved side. Oh Emm Gee I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
And if I could have a moment to communicate directly to the author I would say:

Adrienne Wilder you are one scary author and I have must be a very deprived reader because I absolutely love it!
