Title: Beyond the Darkness
Nothing in Zack Banning’s life makes sense. Not the head injury that ended his career, and certainly not the sexy dreams he’s been having about a mysterious blue-eyed stranger who seems to know exactly how to send Zack straight into the flames of ecstasy with every touch. Zack can’t decide what disturbs him more—how much he longs for the dreams to be real or the fact that they feature another man.
Eljin has spent the last several months frightened and alone. The single bright spot was the tentative connection he forged with Zack, a fellow captive with no memory of their encounter. Desperate to return across the veil but unwilling to leave Zack in danger, Eljin sets out to convince Zack of the miracle that holds them together before the forces conspiring against Eljin’s entire race pull them apart forever.

Beyond the Darkness, Stormy Glenn’s first book in the Dark Court series has been re-released through a different publishing company. Although Ellora’s Cave Publishing stated that this book is a revision, I found no difference between the original version and this one, except the title.
Zach, a former Marine, found himself enmeshed in intrigue and paranormal. Forced to mate a man and impregnate him, Zach has little to no recollection of the encounter as the government -run experiment had him on the run with Eljin and Zach’s friends.
Zach soon learned that things were not always as they appeared and what’s behind the veil is not necessarily the same on his side.
Zach’s character was slightly unbelievable as he went from hardened heterosexual male who did not believe Eljin’s tales of nefarious government plots, to gay man falling in love with his pregnant fae. But, once Zach realized where his heart lied, his tender side towards Eljin endeared me. Eljin was a sprite of a man, delicate in stature yet fierce in disposition.
The secondary characters in the tale were well written and added spice as well as Ms. Glenn’s descriptors.
