Review: Beyond Repair by Charlotte Stein

When Alice Evans finds a bona fide movie star on the floor of her living room, she has no idea what to do. Ordinary men are frightening enough, never mind someone as famous and frankly gorgeous as Holden Stark.

However, once she realizes that Holden is suffering behind that famous facade, she knows she has to help. He needs someone like her to give him a taste of sweetness and desire and love. He needs normality. The only problem is—Alice is hiding a secret that is far from normal. In fact, her name isn’t even Alice at all.

And once Holden finds out, the intense connection they are just beginning to build may well be torn apart.

Beautifully touching, Beyond Repair tells of the struggles of a young woman with her past along with coming face to face with an extremely famous movie star who had passed out on her rug. Charlotte Stein showed us in this book that healing is a two-way process; one cannot simply heal another without being affected by the healing process.  Alice, the main female’s character development was beautiful and inspiring. Her fated meeting with gorgeous movie star Holden Stark was the catalyst to the healing that they both wanted and deserved. With a movie-ish feel to it, this book is filled with a variety of emotions and may make the reader laugh and/or cry; it is also both romantically sweet and sexy. Moreover, a lot of movie-based references were included in this book, especially in the dialogue, fitting in perfectly with the scene and adding to the overall impact.
