Review: Bound by Law (Men of Honor #2) by S.E. Jakes

The one man he can't forget is the one whose memories could destroy them all.

After the one man he trusted disappeared, it took Law Connor ten years to take a chance on another relationship. Trouble is, right about the time he's finally ready to let go of the past, the past stages a hostile takeover.

Back when they were teens, Styx was the boy with no memory. He and Law had each other's backs until he was forced to leave to keep Law safe. Now a CIA agent, he's finally discovered who he is, and why he's a hunted man.

Detective Paulo McMannus has almost succeeded in helping Law forget his lost love when Styx comes plowing back into their lives. No way is Paulo giving up his lover without a fight.

Suddenly Law finds himself on the run with Styx, the man who can still bring him to his knees...and with Paulo, the man who brought him back to life. The worst part? He can't choose between them. And it's getting harder to remember why he should.

I met Law, Styx, and Paulo last month when I read No Boundaries. These three men have such a huge dominating presence that they demanded page time in a book that was not even theirs. It is that presence that made me want to read S.E. Jakes Men of Honor series. I had to know all the smutty details on how these three men found their very sexy happily ever after.

Law and Paulo had small roles in Bound by Honor. Paulo is chasing Law. He knows what he wants and Paulo wants Law. Paulo is even willing to share his time with Law with the man that is no longer a part of Law’s life. Styx may be Law’s past but he is still very much a part of Law’s life. Law has never been able to move on. Law’s love life has been a series of one night stands. Once Paulo entered Law’s life things began to change a little. Law continues seeing Paulo, but trying not to get attached. Paulo will take what he can get when it comes to Law, even if that is the man from his past included.

Styx is part of Law’s past for a reason. Styx has left everything behind more than once and he is more than willing to do it again, all with reason. Styx’s past has once again come at him. This time there is even more danger because Law and Paulo have been targeted. The only thing Styx wants is for the only man he ever loved to come out on the other side of this nightmare alive. It doesn’t take long before Styx discovers he has a chance of getting Law back in his life with possibility of Paulo too if he plays his cards right.

Bound by Law is one intense read. These three men finding their happily ever after is a true struggle. There is a past relationship, a present relationship, and only a minute possibility for a future. All the men have secrets and pasts that they don’t want discovered. The only way this relationship will work is with complete trust from all parties. All in all it makes for one excitingly erotic romance.

Some great quotes

Paulo to Law: ” Your past is in the next room and it’s nowhere near past. Am I supposed to not mind that?”

Law to Styx and Paulo: “What if it’s something Law wants?”
