Review: I Can See For Miles by Lisa Worrall

After a kayaking accident took Josh Donald’s sight, he’s faced with learning to negotiate the world as a blind man. In short order, his boyfriend leaves him behind, making it clear he’s not inclined to deal with special needs. Reeling from the blow, Josh flounders. In an attempt to help, Josh’s friends take him to a camp for the blind, where he falls for the camp organizer, Charlie Cooper. Charlie seems to feel the attraction too, but when a horse named Dottie pushes them into a hot first kiss, Charlie resists. He believes he’s damaged goods, not boyfriend material. Since the accident, Josh has faced tough obstacles, but the most challenging hurdle of all may be getting Charlie to open up and take a chance on love.

Josh was left blind eight months ago after a kayaking accident. While his adjustment to the new him was swift he has refused to let anyone new into his life. His swift adjustment came due to someone walking out of his life and all of the new limitations he would have. Josh’s best friends Greg and Mario have been an incredible support, always by his side, and more than eager to see their friend happy again. That is how they came up with the plan to go the camp that caters to those with vision impairments.

Camp Aisling is Charlie’s dream. It’s the place he ran to when his life had its own devastating blows. He puts his all into the camp. He wants everyone that steps foot on the property to know that they can do anything they want. He want to make sure that everyone sees what is in front of them, life. Charlie just doesn’t heed his own advice. He is selective of who he lets into his life. He’s had his heartbroken and knows that he never wants to experience that hurt again.

It doesn’t take more than a few minutes together for Charlie and Josh and everyone around them to see the obvious attraction. While momma and meddling bestie are planning a wedding Charlie is trying to figure out how to keep the sexy Josh out of his thoughts. Josh sees Charlie as a challenge. Josh has never been one to back down from a challenge even knowing that disaster could potentially be waiting on the other side.

I Can See For Miles was a fun sexy read. While some of it didn’t seem plausible and several of the characters and their cheering for these two men to get together seemed a little over the top it still made for a fun read. Josh and Charlie are fun loving happy men. They have some issues getting past the past but that is what made their romance something for them to fight to get to.

Favorite quote, Josh to Charlie: “Charlie, you’ve had your tongue in my mouth, and I can still feel your hands in my hair. I think I’m already personal stuff.”
