Title: Caribou's Gift
Damn it, a man had his pride and a caribou a certain majestic presence, all of which could wind up ruined if he abased himself to play a simple-minded reindeer in the town’s Christmas parade.
No way was he wearing damned tinsel in his antlers.
Like hell was he sporting a red nose and pulling a sleigh.
But he changes his mind when he meets the woman in charge of the event.
Single mom, Crystal, is doing her best to offer her daughter the best Christmas ever. It’s their first in Kodiak Point, and she’s not about to let some vain jerk ruin it for her little girl.
If playing dirty is what it takes…then bring on the Christmas games. As Crystal and Kyle butt heads—and lips—they discover more than goodwill this holiday season. They’re gifted with a second chance at love.

Love-love-love it!! I am normally not a fan of holiday stories. I find they tend to be very sappy and corny but Caribou’s Gift is anything but. What it IS, in my opinion, is the best in the Kodiak Point series.
Each one of these books has a standard formula. Male shifter mentally scarred from the war, perky/feisty female (being a shifter is optional) who ends up taming/healing her man, exciting drama. We have Kyle, who is a caribou, also a vet from the war but her doesn’t seem to be too broken that is if you don’t include his tendency to ‘mission’ everything. You got Crystal, who’s a cougar shift, and she is sweet as well as feisty. (Side note: a cougar and a caribou? How does that work out? What if she gets hungry?) Exciting drama…no wait, this was more like laugh out loud drama. I couldn’t help but smile the whole time I read the book. And one more little add element – Crystal’s daughter, Gigi.
Who actually does the taming is up in the air but the premise of the story is a shifter Caribou is needed to play Rudolph in a Christmas parade had me laughing so hard. Poor Kyle. What a blow to his ego. Of course, it helps to soften the blow when it’s delivered by a little green-eyed beauty. Does he cave? You’ll have to read to find out but let me say, a more satisfying taming I have yet to read.
Even though this story read fast I more than enjoyed it. Not much of the previous books are reveal here so it’s okay to read as a stand-alone. I personally am happy I have read it as a series. I recommend everyone who likes shifter books to read Caribou’s Gift. Make sure you read it from cover to cover…especially the very end. And be prepared to walk away laughing!
