Review: Cat on the Fence (By the Tail #2) by Tatiana Caldwell

The last thing Karabi wants after dumping her clingy boyfriend is a new relationship. She’s a Werecat shifter and romantic involvements with normal humans are challenging to say the least. However her clashes with the frustratingly hot new guy at work, Alex, are tinged with a lust that’s impossible to ignore.

Alex throws professionalism out the window the first time he gets Karabi alone, sexing her up atop Willis Tower. But unbeknownst to them he’s a “Late Bloomer”, a Werecat whose powers haven’t manifested until adulthood. As their first sexual encounter reaches climax he shifts uncontrollably.

Suddenly Alex is thrown into the dangerous world of Werecats and Rabid Werewolves. With each passing day his sexual voracity increases but unfortunately so does his feral nature. To give Alex the help he needs, Karabi must face the Pride and play by their rules—both of which she’s fiercely rejected.

Intrigue and drama entertain readers in this erotic shifter romance. Cheetah shifter Karabi clashes with the hot new guy at work, but the lust is impossible to ignore.  “Late Bloomer”, Alex throws professionalism out the window with Karabi but as their first sexual encounter reaches climax he shifts into a tiger and is thrown into a dangerous world of Werecats and Rabid Werewolves.

This fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, action, drama and red hot passion.  The author describes the scenes and events with great details that capture the imagination and well orchestrated action scenes that are exciting and believable. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

Alex and Karabi are instantly in lust with each other, their passion radiates from every page and the frequent sex scenes burn up the pages with fiery intensity. The relationship however is slow building as Karabi doesn’t want to settle down and has quite a few stubborn issues with rules and Alex wants a family, but having to deal with suddenly being a tiger adds quite a few complications as well.  The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the drama of Alex learning his new life, the passion between the couple and dealing with rabid werewolves.  There is also quite a few chuckles to be found during the story as Alex has to learn to control his other half.

The author has created a fascinating world of shifters that inspires lots of curiosity and stimulates the senses. I found that this one did give us more of the Pride world, but I still wish it was a little longer.  Overall, I found the story to be enjoyable and entertaining although there was a small inconsistency concerning time that had me a little confused, but it was minor and I am still looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
