Review: Catch a Tiger by the Tail (THIRDS #6) by Charlie Cochet

Calvin Summers and Ethan Hobbs have been best friends since childhood, but somewhere along the line, their friendship evolved into something more. With the Therian Youth Center bombing, Calvin realizes just how short life can be and no longer keeps his feelings for his best friend a secret. Unfortunately, change is difficult for Ethan; most days he does well to deal with his Selective Mutism and Social Anxiety. Calvin’s confession adds a new struggle for Ethan, one he fears might cost him the friendship that’s been his whole world for as long as he can remember.

As partners and Defense Agents at the THIRDS, being on Destructive Delta is tough at the best of times, but between call-outs and life-threatening situations, Calvin and Ethan not only face traversing the challenges of their job, but also working toward a future as more than friends.

Readers have been reading little bits and pieces of the sexual tension thrown off from Ethan and Calvin from the very beginning of the THIRDS series. I was so thankful that they finally got their own book so that their story could be told. I can assure you it did not disappoint.

Calvin and Ethan have been inseparable for twenty-four years. They grew up together. They been through some extremely difficult times. The one thing they have always had is each other. That is where the problem arises. They have acknowledged the attraction. While they both want to give into it they know that if things go awry that they cannot live without the other. Now they must decide how to go from friends to more without losing what they’ve always had which is each other.

I loved Catch a Tiger by the Tail. It is possibly my favorite in the series thus far. Their mix of sweet, sexy, and passionate made for a great romance. Ethan and Calvin have held in their feelings for the other for far too long. When they finally let go and go after each other it is hot. They make sense together. They just have to find a way to change their relationship a tiny bit while keeping what matters most front and center.

At six books into this series Dex has gotten on every single nerve I have. In the beginning his shenanigans were funny. The fact that Sloane is picking up on some of his weird is sad. Sloane and some sternness needs to balance out Dex’s eccentricities. The next book Smoke and Mirrors has “Primary romance: Dex & Sloane.” I’m honestly not sure how I feel about that. I’ll continue on though. We end on a bit of a cliffhanger. It’s a bit, I could care less about Dex so the ending was not too dramatic for me. For people who are Dex fans….
