Review: Cherry Blossom (Vampire Cherry #2) by Sotia Lazu

With her murderous maker still on the run, Cherry has enough on her mind even before her newly turned boyfriend, Alex, demands they meet each other's parents. Constantine, her ex and now member of the vampire council, is suspiciously quick to allow this breach of vampire law. It soon becomes clear there's a lot Cherry doesn't know about her family's past.

And it's threatening her present and her future.

Alex is changing, Ádísa is dead but not as gone as she should be, and feelings forced aside are reconsidered. Back in her hometown, and faced with an overabundance of new information, Cherry is determined to fight for herself, her family, and her man.

That's when her world is turned upside down.

Again.

There’s a lot about Cherry’s past that she doesn’t know and now it’s threatening her future with Alex in this captivating urban fantasy vampire romance.

This romance captivates readers with a fast paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement and romance. Cherry has a lot going on at the moment especially since they have no idea where her maker is but Alex is changing and not in a good way which is adding lots of stress to her life. The reader can’t help but get caught up in her story as she tries to make sense of everything that is happening to Alex and what is happening or not with Constantine (think love triangle). There are lots of hot and steamy, passionate encounters between Alex and Cherry but the relationship is not really going very well as Alex’s jealously seems to be getting out of control.

The well written scenes and details capture the imagination white the suspense draws the reader in and ensures they can’t put the book down.  There is never a dull moment as excitement waits around every corner as Cherry’s maker lurks in the shadows and manipulates an attack that nobody sees coming and secrets about Cherry’s family’s past come to light that puts some things in perspective but rocks Cherry’s world which also adds history and depth to the story.

The author keeps readers on their toes with some surprising twists, turns and intrigue and the strong captivating characters grab reader’s attention from the very beginning. I was completely enthralled in the book even though the ending was kind of sad…don’t get me wrong it is the way it’s should be at the moment, it’s just not the perfect happily ever after which makes sense since Cherry’s adventures aren’t over yet, I’ll just have to wait to see what happens next.
