Review – Cloaked in Mist: Children of Mist & Fire (Elemental Desire #2) by Nancy Corrigan

Nikki Reisler is on a mission to recover the Norse artifact belonging to her family. She'll do anything to get her hands on the cloak, including manipulating the surly vampire who kidnaps her. But she doesn't count on her emotions getting in the way--and loving the man you're trying to con never turns out good.

Lyal harbors an undeniable hunger for the woman he caught a glimpse of in Greenland. She's beautiful, intriguing, exciting...and he can't wait to dump the conniving female on someone else. No way does he want to spend eternity with a partner who houses the power of the god he hates--or worse yet, fall in love with her.

But when Nikki's future and honor are threatened, Lyal gears up for the fight of his life...against the mistakes of the past. He refuses to allow them to claim the most important treasure he's ever found--Nikki.

300 Review

I think I’ve found my new obsession. As a PNR lover, I’m always looking for that book or series that can take me to a world that tugs on all of my senses. One that not only draws me in to the story being told, but in to the characters themselves. This series is proving to be THAT series. In my review of the first installment, I mentioned that if you liked Thor, you’d be drawn in because this series is based on the Norse Gods and then some. Well buckle up. This book directly revolves around Loki, Odin, Ragnarok and so much more.

Lyal is a warden. Ok, lets get real, he’s a vampire. A hot, determined and extremely sensitive vampire. Sensitive? Yep. Let’s just say that he had a little bit of an issue before he went in to his death sleep and he clearly hasn’t gotten over it. That’s all about to change. In fact, he’s gonna have to address that situation head on when dealing with a human who holds the spirit of a Norse God he hates.

Nikki is the “special” human that hosts this Norse God. Although she’s aware of the Norse Gods’ treasures being stolen (because she’s been hired to find them), she’s unaware of what her true involvement means. That is until she meets Lyal. One look at him is all it takes to spark a chain reaction that she’s determined to manipulate. Turns out her manipulation comes from the very Norse God she hosts. But when she finally figures out who she hosts, the damage may have already been done.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THIS!!!!!! I do NOT give out 5 stars to books I love often. So why did I give this one the full rating? Did you read the first paragraph ^^^? I have always been fascinated with the Norse Gods and Ragnarok. This series offers a refreshing twist to the legendary tales we’ve read in the past and I have to say that I’m very impressed. I’m almost pissed off that eventually we’ll run out of Gods. Thank goodness that won’t happen for a while. Sigh….now when can I get my hands on the next one????
