Review: Dane (The Lords of Satyr #5) by Elizabeth Amber

When Dane Satyr approaches Eva for her services as a matchmaker, she offers him more than just introductions. Dane has discovered that Eva is a Satyr like himself, full of insatiable passion and dark desires. Their attraction combusts instantaneously, unlocking pleasures that neither can resist repeating ... even as Eva seeks out a mortal bride for Dane ...

Dane knows that the anonymous enemies of his past are now smiling in his face, but unmasking them is no easy task. A ring of sex slavers is at work amidst the high society he courts, and revealing his sensual powers could expose his greatest vulnerability. But having sampled the delights of a satyr mistress, Dane finds his own desires rising against him as well.

This book can easily be read without reading the previous 4 Satyr books. The story takes place in a different place, in a very different year with a different set of Satyr brothers. The line of Satyrs from the first four books is not even mentioned in this book. I do however recommend reading them, they’re good books. In a manner of speaking this could be seen a book 1 of part 2 of the Lords of Satyr series. I also think I may have a new favorite Satyr, Dane. There are four new Satyrs to drool over, Bastian, Sevin, Dane and Lucien. Eager to see where the author will go with Lucien’s character. You’ll have to read to find out more there. He is missing and I do not wish to give away any spoilers.
Like all Satyrs Dane is a tall, dark and godly sexy, sexual being. He has a tragic past that has left him with some mental fractures that leave him troubled. He has no recollection of a year of his life when he was taken as a child. In order to secure his home in EarthWorld he must marry and breed a human wife. The Council has directed him to go see a fey-human Martial Broker. Eva is not fey-human as she leads everyone to believe. She is actually a female Satyr, the only female Satyr. Eva, like Dane is seeking a human to marry and breed with. These are the stipulations that the Council has set so that they may live on the other side of ElseWhere.
Dane and Eva are trying to fight an attraction that only leads to a perfect match because they are putting other people’s lives before theirs. Dane is searching for a brother that has been missing for twelve years, a brother that he secretly blames himself for allowing to be taken. Eva is trying to live the life she promised her mother she would. It’s the life that her mother never got to live for herself, so naturally she wants for her daughter what she never had for herself. There is a great romance in this book along with plenty of hot erotic sex. Readers are also given a side story concerning a cult that is kidnapping ElseWorld beings for cruel and perverse tortures. I’ve noticed with most erotica’s that there seems to be more sex than story. The reader is given multiple storylines, a great romance, and a diverse group of characters in this great sexy book.
***Satyrs have two functioning penises. This is written very tastefully and the scenes are very sexy. This book also has some voyeurism and some scenes take place in an underground sex club. All this is done very tastefully and erotically.***
