Review: Into Darkness (Night Prowler #6) by J.T. Geissinger

In New Vienna, capital of the oppressive global government formed after the Flash, three things are certain: the sun is poisonous, speaking out is dangerous, and being different will get you killed.

And Lumina Bohn is extraordinarily different.

Living in terror of discovery, Lu knows nothing of her past?but she knows she must pretend to be human to survive. When an incident at work triggers her astonishing powers, she becomes the target of an international manhunt. Only one person can save her: Magnus, the enigmatic stranger haunting her dreams.

Magnus rescues the outcasts called Aberrants from capture and torture. As Lu begins exploring her powers among her people, her feelings for Magnus intensify. He's determined to stay emotionally distant, yet their smoldering passion soon becomes impossible to resist.

But when a shocking revelation threatens the lives of every remaining Aberrant, Lu and Magnus must risk everything, confronting their enemies in an explosive final stand to save their kind from the darkest fate of all: extinction.

I really enjoy reading this series. It makes me laugh, sometimes it makes me want to cry and of course it always makes me happy. This story is no different and it was a wonderful addition to the series.

The only thing that brought this story down in stars from 5 to 4.5 was at the beginning I got a little confused. It jumps ahead quite a few years from the last one and I was not following completely what happened. At first I was trying to figure out how Lumina fit into this world and what happened to all the characters I loved to read about. After re-reading the ending of the last book and then reading the beginning of this one again I got it straightened out. I got it figured out early on in the book so it was not much of an issue.

I loved the characters in this story. Once I figured out Lumina and met Marcus I really enjoyed both of them. Their chemistry was great from the start and the fact that they were dreaming of each other was a plus. I liked the different turns and powers that were shown in this story also. This story was necessary to continue on from where the last one left off and I can’t wait to see where the next story takes us.

On a side note I love the covers for these books also. They make me want to pick them up and start reading them. If you have not read this series I highly recommend it. I was never one that was big on shifter books but this series I can’t stand to not read.
