Review: Dawn’s Desire (Dark Kings 0.3) by Donna Grant

For centuries, the immortals knows as the Dragon Kings have hidden their shapeshifting powers from the world. But when a mortal enemy threatens to expose them, the warrior Banan must leave his secret lair in the Highlands, risk his life for the dragons within – and resist the temptations of human love…

Jane Holden has never considered herself beautiful. But when the impossibly handsome Banan casts his gaze upon her, smoldering with sensuality, she feels like the sexiest woman on earth. Banan, however, is a man on a mission. He refuses to succumb to this modern woman’s charms – or his own desires. Two of his warrior brethren have already surrendered to forbidden love. But as the danger closes in, Banan realizes that he needs to possess Jane – mind, body, and soul. For she is more than his match. She is his destiny.

I’ve totally read the Dark Kings books out of order and it’s totally my own fault. I mention that because once the series moves into full length novels Donna gives her readers so much more page time with these exceedingly sexy men.

This novella takes place off of Dreagan land. Bannan, Rhys, Guy and Elena are in London trying to figure out who lead PureGems thus Elena and Sloan onto Dreagan land in the first place. Someone is telling ancient dragon secrets and the Kings that remain will stop at nothing to see that it stops. Bannan in typical man mind sees this as an relatively easy task. He certainly goes into it believing that his heart will still be his in the end. Nothing is ever simple, nor does it go as planned when the heart is involved.

Putting up with an ass of a boss is Jane’s main role within PureGems. The Kings don’t know this. They find her to be a person of interest due to her boss’s involvement in sending Elena onto Dreagan land to begin with. Investigating Jane is easy enough. Bannan finds it even easier to get to know her and her secrets. Bannan is so attracted to Jane that she quickly goes from a source of info to a human he is beyond interested in, even though there is an ancient magic in place to keep the dragons from falling in love with humans.

Dawn’s Desire is a quick sexy read. Easily enjoyable and the world is fascinating enough to leave me wanting more. Thankfully I have three more to read!
