Review – Deceiver: A Dark Revenge Romance (Dark #2) by Robin Lovett

I’m bored. Tired of my meaningless life. The garden parties, the white sundresses, and politely saying “no” to the sliver of cake—it’s the life my mother and father wanted for me, worked tirelessly for me to have. And the monotony makes me reckless.

But when I go to Blake Vandershall’s party, his dark, menacing eyes and his hard, unyielding stare make me want things that have never been offered to me before. He’s the type who would ravish you in your father’s law office. The kind who would lie without blinking an eye in order to get what he wants.

And the repressed bad girl in me wants to give him what he needs.

Daisy Nowell is nothing to me.

I don’t care that underneath that blue-blood lifestyle, she’s burning to be unleashed. My victim is her father—the one man who had the chance to save my mother from a brutal fate. The coward did nothing, and it’s my turn to make his life a living hell.

He’s about to lose his precious daughter to me, a man whose sole mission is to destroy him. I’ll do anything, say anything, in order to tear this woman from her safe life as I hurtle down my path towards destruction. But I didn’t count on her seeing through me. I didn’t count on her tapping into my weaknesses, pushing my dark heart in ways I don’t want. Ways I hate.

I need to find a way to exact my vengeance and leave this all behind. Before this woman ruins me for good.

This story!!! This incredible story that just keeps pulling me in. After reading the first book in this series, I wasn’t sure how the author was going to top it, but OMG, she totally has. WOW!!!

To say that Blake has issues is a huge understatement. After years of protecting his sister from his evil father, even after his death, Blake is now out for revenge. What better way to get revenge than to kidnap the daughter of the man who helped cover up things Blake’s father did, right? I mean, what could go wrong?

Daisy has been living a blah life. Don’t get her wrong. She comes from money. Her father is a very successful lawyer, she’s gone to college and could have her pick of any young southern man…if she wanted. But that’s not something she wants. Nope. She seems to be searching for…more. What that more is, she’s not sure. Until she meets Blake. There’s that something she’s been looking for and didn’t even know until it was right in front of her. But the circumstances are very unconventional and before she knows it, she can’t get enough of Blake. Does he feel the same or is she just the means to an end?

Like I stated earlier, this story just keeps getting better and better for me. Is there an over abundance of sex in this book? Yep, but it has everything to do with the relationship between Blake and Daisy and how it actually “helps” some of the healing (you’ll understand when you read it). If you’re anything like me, you’ll walk away from this book having shed many tears for the pain that Blake had to deal with. But more importantly, from the love he finally gets from someone he doesn’t deserve it from.

BTW – Holy Epilogue cliffhanger Batman!!!!! I’m SOOOOOOOOOO in….100%
