Review: Delivered Into His Hands (WindWorld #9) by Charlotte Boyett-Compo

He was the bastard son of the invading king. She was the daughter of the Black Baron. An ancient prophecy had bound them together long before either ever drew breath. Love would be theirs despite the tremendous odds stacked against them for he was Vampire and she was human. He was the enemy of her people, the general who led his father's forces against them. She was an innocent whose gentle smile conquered his heart.

To Garrick Warwyck, Antonia Blackthorn was his world. Her body and soul belonged to him, had been granted to him by the goddess Bastet, Herself. Her fire heats his blood to the boiling point every time he looks at her. Her very touch renders him helpless. Nothing will prevent him from taking that sweet, lush body and branding it as his own.

From the moment Antonia laid eyes on Garrick, she felt the pull of a woman for her Life-mate. He was all she had ever dreamed of. He was a living, breathing hero stepped out of the pages of one of her beloved romance novels. Becoming his wife might be a wise political move for her family but to her, it is a wish come true.

In the shadows another man bides his time. Alyxdair Clay has loved Antonia since childhood. Despite the prophecy and the claim Warwyck makes upon her, Alyxdair will do everything in his power to tear them apart. He will destroy everything and everyone around them to have his way.

This erotic romance in the WindWorld series is a riveting paranormal read that takes the reader on emotional roller coaster ride.  Bound together by an ancient prophecy, Garrick Warwyck and Antonia Blackthorn has incredible odds stacked against them, they are opposite sides of the war, he’s a vampire and she’s human and there is a man in the shadows who will do anything to make Antonia his.

This steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, drama and romance.  The author brings the story to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and well orchestrated suspense and drama that draws the reader deeper into the story. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and refuse to let go.

The chemistry between Rick and Tonia burns hot from the very first meeting and the sex scenes are hot and steamy, but the joining is in no way assured as they a have a lot of obstacles to overcome.  The reader can’t help but get drawn into their explosive relationship as the drama escalates between them, fireworks continuously explode between them as they are both very stubborn and non-compromising and their words causes lots of fighting and hurt feelings.

The battles both during the war and their joining adds lots of spicy excitement to the story and spine tingling tension builds as the intrigue from the spies and Tonia’s stalker escalates, also causing major issues to their relationship.  The story never has a dull moment and the author keeps readers on their toes with a few unexpected twists and surprises.  There was no way that I could put this one down until I had the very last word and I can’t wait to read the next one.
