Review: Demand (Careless Whispers #2) by Lisa Renee Jones

The sexy, breathtaking mystery continues in New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones’s stunning second novel in the suspenseful Careless Whispers series—where shocking revelations will reveal themselves and nothing, and no one, will ever be the same.

Still struggling with amnesia, Ella questions everything she’s known about Kayden Wilkens—the alluring stranger who claims to have found her unconscious in an alleyway a month earlier. But was he truly a stranger—or did Kayden know her before his supposed rescue? Tormented by the potential betrayal he denies, with fleeting memories of a bombshell in her recent past, Ella must face a hard reality. Every action has consequences . . . and trusting Kayden, the one thing she most desires, might result in the direst consequences of all.

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, whose searing novels generate “enough heat . . . to start a fire” (RT Book Reviews), dares you to fall in love with her irresistibly surprising and sexy new series.

Just when I thought things couldn’t go and get more intense in the Careless Whisper series, author Lisa Renee Jones find a way to crank it up! Demand starts immediately where the previous book left off where Ella holding a gun at Kayden questioning why he has a picture of the butterfly necklace. No not going into details beyond that but ACK! that was a close one.

Now you can tell from that introduction, that things are definitely getting interesting here. Ella with her amnesia not going away, experiencing blackouts and flashbacks, beginning to remember things begins to question thing around her, particularly Kayden. I just love how the trust builds between them. Actually, it’s how everything builds between them. Theirs is a complicated relationship and as new things come at them, you can see it throws new challenges while solidifying their connection.

Now it isn’t just Kayden and Ella that keeps me wanting more. There are plenty of other shenanigans to hold my attention. Between Gallo and Giala (What is really going on there?), the Underground and the cartel (Yikes!), and the possibility of a mole (Please don’t be Adriel! He’s really growing on me) the energy level is high. As you can expect the story ends on another cliffy, however since this is turning into my favorite series by LRJ, I’m not complaining.
