Review: Desired (Club Sin #3) by Stacey Kennedy

Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey are sure to love Desired, USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy’s latest seductive, electrifying novel of Club Sin, where fantasy becomes reality.
Kyler Morgan, Master at the legendary Club Sin in Las Vegas, knows how to give women what they want—too well. He hasn’t had a real challenge in a long time. Then Ella Snow enters his life. Beautiful, inhibited, and innocent in the ways of submission and domination, Ella is the new blood he’s been lusting after. Soon, the thrill of training her to embrace his world brings forth desires Kyler cannot control.
After ending an abusive relationship, Ella makes a promise to herself to start living life to the fullest. It’s one of the reasons she seeks out Club Sin. Here, Kyler’s every touch is a lesson in liberation, stirring passions that have no bounds. But as she falls under Kyler’s command, Ella discovers that some secrets are so dark they must come to light. Submission alone may not be enough to save her, leaving her Master with only one question: How can he help Ella heal while unlocking the deep pleasures she craves?
Desired is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

This is the story of Ella Snow. The first time I read that name, back in book one, I was like: “Really?  Ella Snow?”  The name tickled my fancy and imagination.  Now that I have read her story, I find that the name actually fits – if you are into names having meaning in the story.  In this case, Ella (Cinderella?) has her past come pounding on her door and trying to take her away from the happiness she has found.  Ms. Snow has had a taste of the bitter poison life can deal out and buried her emotions so deep she didn’t realize she was quite so shut done until “true love’s kiss” brought her back to life.  See what I mean.  Kind of fits, doesn’t it?

I know.  This is a Club Sin story so who is the Club Sin Master of our story?  Of all the doms to be “Prince Charming” Kyler Morgan was the last one I would expect to be so caring and gentle with this “vanilla” princess.  My impressions of Kyler, from previous books, was a wise cracking, hard ass cop who liked to play hard and dirty.  It was quite a surprise to see he had this soft, sweet side to him.  Don’t get me wrong, he still brought sweet, vanilla Ella to the dark side, but he did it with such care and patience, even before he knew why the sadness touched her soul.  Even when Ella wanted more of the dark side, he was soft and caring until she gave him her buried emotions too.  It was really very sweet.  When everything was out in the open, and there were no more secrets, well, that last scene was soooooo HOT! Whew! *wiping sweat from my brow.*

This was a nice third book in this Club Sin series.  Don’t worry if you haven’t read the first two.  This can be read as a stand-alone, but as usual you will get more out of it (like back ground on the other characters) by having read the first two. I liked it well enough, but I didn’t feel it quite the way I did the other books.  The first two thirds of the book seemed slow and kind of superficial, but that may have been on purpose to show how deep Ella had buried her feeling.  It was just hard to stay with it, but I am so glad I did.  Once Ella started opening up, so did the story.  The ending was AMAZING.  Hang in, you will like it.  I can’t wait to see which Master gets his story next.
