Review: Detroit (Fallen #1) by Tiffany Aaron

Book One in the Fallen series.

In a search for a serial killer, a fallen angel and a Detroit crime boss find themselves engaging in an erotic dance of love and lust.

In punishment for rebelling against God, Celeste is banished from Heaven. She has spent centuries on earth trying to keep mortals safe from those of her brethren. As an Enforcer, she still does what she can to protect the innocents from the evil in the world.

Adam Montgomery lives on the wrong side of the tracks in Detroit as the head of a crime syndicate. He’s crawled his way to the top, and nothing will keep him from getting what he wants. And what he wants is Celeste.

Yet as they try to track down a serial killer who’s more than human, Celeste and Adam discover they are in danger of losing more than their lives. They could lose their hearts to each other, but is their trust enough to survive Celeste’s secret?

Celeste is a fallen angel. She builds up her powers from sexual encounters. She is an enforcer that hunts down those of her own kind that turn against the human race. She is world weary and tired of falling in love only to watch the ones she love die.

Adam, the super confident head of a crime syndicate is out for blood. Some maniac is prowling his streets and killing innocent woman and children. Celeste finally decides to give into her attraction to Adam in order for them to team up and catch the fallen angel stalking and killing the woman in Detroit.

I was very excited to start this one. The hero being the head of a crime syndicate? Never read before. The heroin being a fallen angel? Never! Should make for a very interesting read don’t you think?

Boy was I disappointed. Don’t get me wrong – the story line was intense and action packed. It wasn’t too hard to follow and had a satisfying flow to it. I just feel that the passionate moments were left a little lacking. With a little polishing however this could make to a very promising start to what could be a great series.

It does sound like a good read. Once in a while I’m okay with the suspense overpowering the romance if its a strong enough plot. Thanks for sharing!
