Review – Dirtiest Secret (S.I.N. #1) by J. Kenner

It was wrong for us to be together, but it was even harder to be apart.

The memory of Dallas Sykes burns inside of me.

Everyone knows him as a notorious playboy, a man for whom women and money are no object. But to me, he’s still the one man I desperately crave—yet the one I can never have.

Dallas knows me better than anyone else. We bear the same scars, the same darkness in our past. I thought I could move on by staying away, but now that we’re drawn together once more, I can’t fight the force of our attraction or the temptation to make him mine.

We’ve tried to maintain control, not letting ourselves give in to desire. And for so long we’ve told ourselves no—but now it’s finally time to say yes.

Dirtiest Secret is intended for mature audiences.

Wow.  J. Kenner never fails to write a good book.  Dirtiest Secrets is gripping and intense.  I enjoyed every minute of it.

I didn’t really like or dislike Dallas and Jane but that took nothing away from my enjoyment of their story.  They’re so complex, flawed and damaged by all they’ve been through that I was thoroughly intrigued with them anyway.  Their problems seem insurmountable and are not neatly wrapped up by the epilogue.  These two are going to have to work a whole lot harder for their happily ever after.  Providing one is even possible for them.  Their pseudo-incest situation adds tremendously to the tension, gives the story more depth and an almost creepy edge.  It also creates all kinds of havoc for our lead couple and everyone around them.  Add to that the kidnapping the two experienced in their youth and you’ve got much more going on in Dirtiest Secrets than any typical romance.  Did I mention sex?  There’s lots and lots of hot sex, too.  Kenner weaves all this together masterfully.

I’m moving right into Hottest Mess to see what’s in store for Dallas and Jane.
