Title: Double Full
Up and coming football hero, Colton Michaels, makes a Hail Mary pass one night in the college locker room that results in the hottest, sexiest five days of his young life. However, interference after the play has him hiding his past and burying his future in the bottom of a bottle. While Colt seems to have it all, looks can be deceiving, especially when you’re trapped so far in a closet that you can’t see your way out. When ten years of living his expected fast-lane lifestyle lands him engaged to his manipulative Russian supermodel girlfriend, he decides it’s time to call a new play.
Jace Montgomery single-handily built the largest all-star cheerleading gym in the world, driven by a need to forget a life-altering encounter with a handsome quarterback a decade ago. His reputation as an excellent coach, hard-nosed business man, and savvy entrepreneur earned him respect in the sometimes catty world of competitive cheerleading. When Jace learns of his ex-lover’s plans to marry, his heart executes a barrel roll and his carefully-placed resolve tumbles down without a mat to absorb the shock. Can his island escape help him to finally let go of the past and move his life forward?

This is one of those books that has been on my eReader forever and I’m left wondering why didn’t I read this sooner. Double Full is the first book in Kindle Alexander’s Nice Guys series. I’ve already read and loved the second installment in that series. No cliffhanger here and the second book works well as a stand-alone so I wasn’t confused in reading them out of order. I’m already well into the third book and you’ll need to read the first two to keep up with what is going on there.
From the blurb I believed that I was going into a rekindle romance. That is sort of what I got but this was way different than any other rekindle romance I’ve ever read. Readers are given a quarter of the book with the young college aged Colt and Jace. We get the full scope of them falling in love and enjoying their island getaway while on the last spring break of their college lives. Rekindles are hit and miss for me because I miss out on how they fell in love in the first place. Then I’m let with why are y’all getting back together, it didn’t work out the first time. Double Full gives you two romances in a way. I got a novella length college boy romance and then I got to read the grown men coming back together and falling in love all over again. This really worked for me.
