Title: Drakon's Promise
Darius Varkas is a drakon. He's neither human nor dragon.
He's also the target of an ancient order who want to capture all drakons for their blood. When fresh, a drakon's blood can cure any illness and prolong a human's life, and the Knights will stop at nothing to get it.
When librarian Sarah Anderson stumbles across a rare book belonging to the Knights of the Dragon, she's quickly thrust into a dangerous world of secrets and shifters and things she never would have believed possible. When the Knights realize Sarah has a secret of her own, she becomes just as much a target as Darius. Her scary dragon shifter just might be her best chance at survival.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Dragons? Well, I do. I especially like it when it’s a demi-dragon or half breed. This is the case with this story and I loved the name of the breed, Drakon (Dragon/Human), it totally works. The world that has been created is easy to understand so that we’re able to concentrate on the story, which was a good thing because it allowed me to focus on the two characters more.
Darius is our Drakon. Yep, half dragon and half human. He’s also ridiculously handsome, old (in age because he’s half dragon after all) and a billionaire. He’s been lucky over the last thousands of years evading the Knights that have been hunting him and his brothers down, but now they seem to be getting closer. He’s on their radar and they’re moving in fast. Probably because they’re getting a little help.
Sarah is a librarian with a special gift. When ever she touches a book, she sees the history/past behind it. Pretty cool gift to have unless someone is using you to get what they want. Yep, can you guess? The Knights have found out about Sarah’s gift and have hired her to help locate a book that will lead them to Darius. But Sarah decides that she needs to help Darius instead of helping the Knights and we’re whisked away on a pretty cool journey.
These two embark on a journey, evading the Knights and “getting to know” one another. Although the chemistry between the two of them is hot and we get to witness some goodie goodie, I personally felt that for a mated couple, it lacked a little oomph. It’s really hard to put a finger on it, but it was just lacking the connection for ME. All in all, good start to a promising series. I’ll be sure to stick with this one because, well…there ARE brothers…
