Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas is book twenty-three in the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear. Not having read all the books in the series, I didn’t know if I would be ok reading this one or not. Have no fear! This can be read as a standalone as Terry gives us all the background we need to dive into this book.
Candice was accidentally turned while camping with friends. She fed a cute little puppy who bit her as puppies do! Soon after, she freaks when she starts to sprout fur and literally shift into a wolf-a very beautiful white wolf at that! Totally at a loss and knowing she can’t be seen like this, she quits her job and moves to a remote cabin in the woods. Being a romance writer, she can write from anywhere. So living as a recluse is not hard. Looking for new material to write in her books, she starts writing from her heart about Artic Wolf shifters.
When her estranged parents leave her an inheritance, Candice’s uncle hires a PI, Owen, to find his niece. That uncle had no clue that Owen is an Artic Wolf shifter as well. When Owen tracks her to the cabin and Candice opens the door. She’s in for a shock! Owen is also a shifter! And he is excited to find a female Artic Wolf shifter as well! He never thought he ever had a chance at a mate since there were no available females in his pack. Knowing he wants her to be with him, he needs to convince her to join his pack and to stay with him. There surely are more males in his pack that would love a chance to get to her too!
This was a nice romance to dig into! Not overly flowery, overly sexy, or overly “you are my mate” type books. It seemed to have just the right mix. It did take me a bit initially to get into the story, and it did seem to slow at times, but the story was well written and I liked reading it!
