Review – Eden’s Deliverance (Eden, #4) by Rhenna Morgan

Captured as a child and forced into slavery by the Rebellion’s leader, Brenna Haven was raised in near isolation with the utmost cruelty. She knew nothing of kindness, or compassion, until Fate orchestrated her rescue. Finally free, she wants nothing more than to return to her home. To reconnect with her human family and live a simple, quiet life. But her newfound powers demand an entirely different future. One fraught with danger, and a terrifying role in an ancient Myren prophecy.

A battle-hardened warrior and sworn bodyguard to the king, Ludan Forte wields a powerful, memory stealing gift. But his skill comes with a price. A torturous burden he’s hidden since his awakening over a hundred years ago. He never dreamed he’d find relief, let alone be tempted to forgo his vows to the king. Yet in Brenna’s sweet, beguiling presence, the weight he bears is lifted. And when her role in the prophecy threatens her life, he’ll stop at nothing to keep her safe.

This story!!! This one right here! This is the one I’ve been waiting for this entire series. The one that I KNEW would be the end, but didn’t want to read it because I wanted this series to live forever. And MY GAWD, it’s my favorite one and SOOOO worth the wait.

Let’s start with Brenna, shall we? We met Brenna in the very first installment after she was slaved and saved from the Rebellion leader. She became a friend and quite frankly, a member of the Shantos family, where we continued to watch her heal from everything she’d gone through. It’s not until the end of Waking Eden that we learn that she is the one, the one that will save the Myren people. But can she handle the pressure of being “the one”?

Ludan. My warrior with a gentle heart and soul. We’ve watched Ludan perform his duty with honor and precision for his king in the previous installments. What we didn’t know was that he’s been suffering for years with his gifts, or as his considers it, somewhat of a curse. I can’t even imagine what he’s had to endure all these years. But something happens when he’s near Brenna. Something magical. Something that has caused him to take notice and grab on, never letting go.

These two together are by far my favorite couple in this series. The turmoil that each one has been through adds that much more to their need for each other. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. The way this author sets the tone and anticipation, not only for the story, but this budding romance is amazing. And trust me, the end has definitely been worth the wait….time to get lost in another one of this authors’ series.
