Review: Fae High Summer Hunt by Renee Michaels

One driving need, two passionate fae, the loving can only be magical.

Banished by Titania, Queen of the Fairies, sensual and wilful, Naeme longs to bask in the heat only a lover with fae blood can generate. With the High Summer Hunt about to begin, all she has to do is capture the interest of a member of the royal guard to re-enter the queen’s gilded, decadent court.

Baylor intends to claim Naeme. But he is the captain of the queen’s guard and the last man she would take to her bed. Titania is a jealous sovereign and given the reason for Naeme's exile, he knows he has a battle on his hands in order to coax Naeme to his arms.

But the forbidden is so tempting, and there is nothing like making love after war.

Naeme is as unique a character as her name suggests. Even more carefree then regular fae she find it difficult to be banished from the royal court. Seeing her one opportunity to be back amongst her people for at least a year she sets her eyes on finding herself a young guard that will make her his mate and take her back to court. She did not plan Baylor being that guard.

This was a very sensual and passionate tale. The characters well described and the use of ‘older’ language set the scene’s quite nicely. Renee Michaels has quite a talent for creating a world where one can lose oneself. I could see the fairies floating about me while reading it.

Naeme is a fun, if a bit too head strong character. For obvious reasons she is a bit reluctant to let Baylor claim her as her mate and therefore tries to dally around a bit. However the inevitable will happen. Baylor is the strong, foreboding captain who is not used to hearing no. Which makes it so fun to see him fight for her and watch her fight against her attraction to him.

It was a great read, one I would recommend to friends.
