Review: Faith by Ashe Barker

Following her husband’s sudden, tragic death, Faith is left widowed after only six months of marriage. She wallows in grief until a neighbour, Ewan, reaches out to her. Although his work takes him away a great deal, Ewan slowly becomes Faith’s rock, helping her heal and encouraging her as she struggles to rebuild her life. As time passes, Faith grows more and more attracted to Ewan, but one thing holds her back: he is a dom, and she is not ready to be a sub.

Though the idea of kneeling naked at Ewan’s feet excites her in a way she can’t fully understand, Faith fears that his sexual appetites would prove too much for her. But when he discovers that she has been exploring the lifestyle without his knowledge and hiding her activities from him, Ewan issues an ultimatum: either she becomes his submissive, or they go their separate ways. This is just the push Faith needs, and in the end her decision is not a difficult one.

Ewan quickly proves to be a firm, commanding lover who is more than capable of mastering her completely. He challenges Faith’s boundaries and introduces her to a level of sensuality she never dreamed she could experience, and Faith soon finds herself at peace in a way she has not felt in years. But when fate takes another turn and she learns the truth about her husband’s death, can Faith count on Ewan to be by her side as she adjusts to a new reality yet again?

Just finished Faith and oooh baby did I love it. Great character, excellent plot and hot sex are always a winner in my book but when it comes from Ashe Barker, I know I’m in for a real treat!

The story starts out fairly typical. We meet Faith, her husband a few extra characters that didn’t seem, at the time, all the important to the plot line. Then WHAM! we get smacked between the eyeballs with the tragic death of Faith’s husband and one of those not so important characters. Little did I know how important and how much of a impact those fluff characters would be! I end up filling instant sympathy for Faith but seriously, her husband was a pig so I’m not sorry to see him go. Of course this is where the story begins to take off with lots of Oohs, Ahhs, and Wows as Faith begins to recover from the loss of her husband and comes into her own with Ewan. From meek to sassy, Faith’s growth is a pleasure to behold. And since not everything is smooth sailing there’s a few added Yikes! to keep it all interesting all leading to a moist, ummm, most satisfying ending.

Now for the sex. YOWZA! Definitely interesting how things progress from vanilla to BDSM. You can tell even during vanilla sex, Faith had a dirty girl side. I’m sure Ewan was thrilled when she finally decided to embrace BDSM. Between bondage, nipple clamps, anal play and a really HAWT 3-way, Faith will keep you squirming and panting in your seat. Word of advise, keep a spare pair of knickers on hand. Wink-wink!

In so many ways this book reminded me of previous titles by the author, which I can’t begin to express how much that excited me. I love the characters and the worlds she creates. I find myself easily drawn in and when the stories end I always have mixed feelings of satisfaction as well as I wish it would go on forever. Alas, every good thing must end as does Faith and Evan’s story which was perfect. Now for the hard part, waiting around for Ashe Barker to put out her next book.
