Review – Fallen Crest University (Fallen Crest High #5) by Tijan

Fallen Crest is back with a vengeance!

Samantha, Mason, and Logan are all together and united with one common enemy: Sebastian Park, the king of fraternity douchebags.

With professional football scouts eyeing his every move, Mason Kade has to walk the line for the first time in his life. Any move he makes against Sebastian has to be perfect and under the radar. One mistake, and his career is over.

Sebastian has other plans. Mason’s career isn’t his target—not even close. Wanting to destroy Mason completely, Sebastian knows he must hit him where it hurts the most: Samantha, who doesn’t give a rat’s ass that she’s the target.

Sam is bound and determined to protect Mason herself, no matter the cost, but what if the cost is beyond her imagination? What if this time, the villain wins?

As a reviewer, I very rarely get the chance to pick up books from authors I fell in love with years ago. Guess what? Finally! Finally, got a chance to return to this amazing series. Yes, I know I’m extremely late to the game. What else is new?

In this installment, we pick up post high school graduation, pre-college check-in and at Sam’s dad and Miranda’s wedding. We’re thrust back in to reliving the details of the previous book (thank God cuz it had been a minute), remembering how things were left wide open for revenge against Mason, Logan and Nate. Oh yeah, and don’t forget the threat made by Park Sebastian.

Sam is excited. She’s finally getting the family she wanted in gaining a mother that actually really likes her and treats her like a daughter. She’s even gaining a step-brother in Mark. She’s moving to Cain U, finally able to be with Mason without drama hanging over her head or a bulls eye on her back. At least that’s what she thought until her first day of class and she runs head in to “the problem”. But she’s determined this time. She’s gonna protect Mason for a change.

Mason is worried. He can’t shake the threat Park made about Sam and now that she’s officially on campus, he’s constantly worried about what could happen. She’s got a new roommate that acts really weird around him and Logan. Park shows up out of the blue. Logan is purposely instigating fights and Mason’s got to keep his hands clean since he’s got the whole football career going. So what does he do about it all? What do you think Mason does? He’s always got a plan, right?

I’ve missed these guys. I feel like they’re the long lost family I haven’t seen in years, jumping right back in where we left off like nothing changed. Nate is back, rounding out the fearsome foursome. Sam is blossoming more and more. Logan is still Logan (hello, like that would ever change) and the love we have for Mason just keeps growing by the page. These four are a force to be reckoned with and we’re reminded just how far they’ll go to protect each other. And just when things start to fall in to place…..Sam’s world changes yet again.
