Review: First Bite (Sex Pure Sex #1) by Leann Wren

In the year 2072, the vampire population is facing extinction, and the Society for the Preservation of the Species has created a breeding program to save it. Emily wants to do her part, but pickings are slim among eligible male vampires. She settles for Gavin, even though he’s not a purebred vamp and his primitive wolf shifter side scares her.

Emily isn’t Gavin’s type either, and her prejudice against shifters doesn’t help. But it’s just another business transaction for him, and he doesn’t have to like her to do his job. They’re both surprised when the sex turns out to be electrifying—and both are determined not to give in to the growing feelings between them.

With the vampire population facing extinction, Emily and Gavin enter into a business transaction in order to get Emily pregnant, neither are the other’s type but the sex is electrifying in this riveting erotically charged paranormal novella.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot stimulates the senses with lots of suspense and red hot passion. The story comes to life with well written scenes and details and the intriguing futuristic world draws the reader deeper into the story. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

The chemistry between Emily and Gavin is off the charts hot and the frequent sex scenes explode from the pages with a fiery intensity that leaves the readers breathless. But the relationship needs a little work, Gavin is determined it’s a business transaction only and Emily wanted a pure bred vampire and not a wolf vampire hybrid, but together this couple fries the senses and the reader just knows that they are perfect for each other.

The author has created a fascinating concept with some intriguing elements gives this series a promising start… I wouldn’t mind reading Jason’s story…hmmm. Danger from a serial killer adds a little excitement to the story but I feel that the story could have benefited from being a little longer. I did enjoy this quick and captivating read and I will be on the lookout for more by this author.
