Review: Fool Me Once (Foolproof Love #2) by Katee Robert

They say opposites attract, but this is just ridiculous.

Aubry Kaiser doesn’t like people—actually, that’s not right. She loathes people. With her crippling anxiety, there’s no way she can demo her favorite video game at a convention with five thousand other people. Maybe if she brings someone to act as a shield…

But the only person available is the sexy cowboy she can’t stand.

Quinn Baldwyn is in a mess of his own. He’s been dodging his wealthy family’s matchmaking attempts—and life advice—for years, but with his sister’s wedding on the horizon, he needs of a shield of his own.

He and Aubry can barely hold down a civil conversation, but in bed…fireworks. And the closer they get to Quinn’s sister’s wedding, the more he realizes that he might actually like Aubry.

Now it’s up to him to convince her she might actually like him, too.

Wow! Just wow!  I loved this book!! Fool Me Once was a stand out! Katee Robert hooked me from the very first paragraph and I lost all track of time while reading it!  I loved the characters and the I loved the storyline just as much!

Aubrey, our heroine, is a complete basket case! Very smart, hung up on everything that can kill her, and prickly.  But I liked her-very much! Quinn is everything he needs to be in a hero-sexy, good in bed, compassionate, but he’s also very understanding of Aubrey. He has a knack with dealing with Aubrey’s fears and razor-sharp tongue!  He’s very strong with her and it seems to be the thing she needs so very much.  Her fears are real-but he never belittles her for them. He just helps her deal with them.  He wasn’t without his own faults, of course, but he was just loveable in my eyes!

They embark on a week trip featuring a DeathCon gamer convention and Quinn’s sister’s wedding. Their bantering is hilarious at times! Ultimately the sizzling attraction lurking under all their sarcasm keeps ramping up! When they finally give into their animal magnetism-it’s fireworks!  Their chemistry is molten! As Aubrey finds sex with Quinn is phenomenal, little by little she lets him in. Quickly they find they are craving the other like nothing they have ever faced before. Can they really have this? Or is it all an illusion disguised by awesome sex??

Fool Me Once is very well written. I was enthralled and before you know it, it was over. The epilogue is WONDERFUL! So intuitive! I can’t say enough about this book! You must grab it and dive in! It ticked all my romantic boxes and I think it will for you too!
