Review: Forgiving Lies (Forgiving Lies #1) by Molly McAdams

A matter of secrets...

Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies...

Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...

As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

I just love being able to lose myself in a book. To be so caught up in the story because it has all the elements you enjoy is every readers dream. That’s is what Forgiving Lies for me. OMG!!! LOVE THIS BOOK! This romance/mystery/drama hits the ground running from page one and keeps going until the end. Kash and Rachel’s romance is sweet and had me alternating between laugh out loud moments from their quick banter and tears for sorrow. OK I will admit there were a few things that were a bit predictable, but overall I was able to completely relax and enjoyed the ride. One thing that I did not see coming was the ending. Now that I didn’t expect and was COMPLETELY caught off guard. Frankly, this is the drawback of reading ARCs. We have to wait longer for the next book to come out. WAH!

Kash is AMAZING! Tats, bike, and a cop. Where can I get me one of these! The true star of the book is Rachel. To survive her loss, then endure what she went through and still have to see her attacker, that’s tough. The development of these characters from friendship to a couple took my breathe away. Actually all of the characters had great depth and development…yes that includes the antagonist. Actually, I take that back. I did NOT like Candice. As the sidekick bimbo, she was pretty much what I expected but her whole attitude was not what a ‘best friend’ should be.

This is my first book by Molly McAdams and if this book is any indication of what to expect then I have a new favorite author. I was up past midnight to finish because I could not put this book down. I have already started telling my friends this is a must read book. So, do I recommend Forgiving Lies! Heck yeah! Get it ladies, you will not be disappointed.

SPOILER WARNING: Now for my not so happy PSA. Good news: There is sex. It’s very tastefully written with also just the right amount of heat. Bad News: The antagonist is a sexual predator. There is violence and attempted rape, which while tastefully written, it is still there and may be disturbing for some readers. Sorry if I ruin it for anyone but since there is no warning in the blurb I felt it needed to be said.
