Stars: three-stars
Flames: two-flames

Three novellas come together in this book to bring some heart and heat to the season. All of these novellas have been repackaged together to show love matches for the two Dean Brothers (Axel and Booker) and their friend Dr. Cary.  As short stories, they are nice teaser tastes of the men and the women they love: quick, short and satisfying.

What emerges in this collection is the men: their relationships to one another plays a consistent part in this collection: each story has the three coming together and interacting, and this builds more interest and development in their characters.  For me, the women weren’t as strongly built as the men in most of Foster’s stories, but while they are somewhat less developed, they still manage to hold their own and provide nice matches for the men.

From a reluctant neighbor to a best friend’s nurse and even possibly the first ‘no’ ever heard from a woman pursued, these stories use humor, friendship and some serious sizzle to bring about happy endings, and leaves readers with a smile.
