Review: Hell’s Kitty (Welcome to Hell, #4) by Eve Langlais

Good thing this Hellcat has nine lives because he’s going to need them if he’s going to survive Lucifer’s latest scheme and land on his four furry feet.

Okay, so Felipe ate a few of the Styx sea creatures. In his defense, they were awfully tasty. Depleting the monster reservoir didn’t mean Lucifer had to go all Lord of Hell on him and order him to go on a stupid mission. And to Siren Isle of all places! Everyone knows males should stay far, far away from that dangerous place. The only stroke of luck is the woman he’s after isn’t a siren. Nor is she quite a mermaid. As a matter of fact, Jenny isn’t like anyone he’s ever met—so, of course, this curious cat wants her.

Except he’s not the only one.

Not long after his arrival, he runs into problems, which he’s only too happy to solve in a permanent and violent fashion. Getting Jenny off the island and back to Hell’s inner circle is proving more troublesome than expected, though. Who knew a simple retrieval mission would signal the start of a dangerous—yet exhilarating—adventure, and despite his tomcat ways, this purring feline can’t help but fall in love

It’s been a while since I have had a book that I have enjoyed as much as Hell’s Kitty. I’ve been buried reading so much dark and depressing book and that I forgot how much FUN a humorous, sexy romance can be. Giggling though Jenny and Felipe’s adventures is something everyone will enjoy.

This book is filled with some many wonderful characters. From the horny Sirens to the conniving scheming matchmaker Lucifer (Still laughing over the rain slicker w/rubber duckies!) you can help enjoy all of them. Of course the center of it all is Jenny. Sweet, naïve Jenny with a cute body and a voice to die for. Literal! Seems this not quite mermaid, not quite siren has a voice that maims and kills almost everyone that hears it. Makes it pretty difficult to have friends. That is until one Hellcat comes along. Felipe….purrrr! I’d like to sink my claws into him. Felipe’s dialog with everyone he meets had me in stitches. He certainly doesn’t suffer from self-esteem issues. However, when you put him and Jenny together it’s sparks and not fur that is flying. These two sizzle together and definitely crank up the heat. Their journey to the inner circle of Hell is fraught with adventures and challenges that had me laughing the whole way.

I just found my next favorite author. Eve Langlais has been on my list of authors I have been wanting to try out. I don’t know why I held out for so long. Maybe I was waiting around for the right book to come. It certainly did with Hell’s Kitty. Now that I know what I have missed out on, I have some reading to do. Now I need to go back, start this series from the beginning and get the rest of Ms. Langlais’ works. This book is well worth the read.
