Review: Hot Fusion by Shana Gray

After fleeing her hometown years ago, Kara Sinclair has returned to breathe life back into the bakery her deceased grandmother left behind. She has a history in this town—one that involves her one true love. A boy she’d thought she’d give her life to before circumstance got in the way. She needs to focus on her task, but one look at Maxwell Stone and all the old feelings return. And it isn’t long before she can think of nothing else but reigniting the passion they once shared.

Max never understood what drove Kara away all those years ago, and once she returns to their Canadian hometown, he’s hell bent on getting her back into his life…and his bed. But when he uncovers the reason she left him behind, he must decide if he can move on from the past and trust his heart with the only woman he’s ever loved.

Kara left the only home she ever knew to go to Europe to study the culinary arts. After spending fifteen years away she has returned home to not only restore her Grams beloved café to its former glory but to bring new flair and life to its counters and tables. Grams and her bakery was not the only thing Kara left behind so many years ago though. She left her first and only love behind.

Max is elated when he discovers that Kara has come back home. He is not only hoping to pick up where they left off so long ago, but he is expecting to find out why she left so abruptly. These two lovers soon discover that time apart does in fact make the heart grow fonder. They now have to figure out if the secret from their past can be forgiven and forgotten so that they can get their happily ever after.

Hot Fusion is a very sweet romance. Max and Kara’s previous relationship allowed for the whirlwind reconnect not to feel rushed. The rekindle relationship works so well with novellas. Kara and Max’s age at the time of their initial relationship made the mistakes believable. With all the passion and love that they had for one another for so long you find yourself cheering this couple along to their much deserved happily ever after.
